Total Control Security is a Glasgow-based,  family-owned business that specialises in manned guarding, door supervision, mobile patrols, alarm response, and key holding services, ensuring comprehensive security solutions and peace of mind for their clients.

NovaBytes were recommended to Total Control Security by the Homeless Project Scotland (who also had a new Business Telephony/VoIP solution installed by NovaBytes) back in 2021 when they were looking for a new phone system. They have remained a loyal customer and, since then, have also taken on IT Support for all their staff, been through an i-map to Microsoft 365 migration and also a Cyber Security audit and implementation.

Challenges

TCS had a telephony solution that simply wasn’t working for them anymore and needed to modernise their communications with clients by deploying a new Unified Communications solution. Some of their problems included;

  • Low call quality and continuous dropouts.
  • An antiquated app and lack of functionality

  • The MD of TCS mentioned the company needed a better solution to provide higher quality communication to their clients.

Solution

NovaBytes were able to help TCS by scoping, building and implementing 8×8 Unified Communications for the business.

8×8 Unified Communications

Process

The challenges the TCS management team were facing with their current comms solutions were quickly established in a Teams meeting. They were facing multiple issues including low call quality with dropouts, they had an antiquated app that would consistently stop working properly. In this meeting we also talked about the business goals for the next couple of years and how the new comms solution would be able to help achieve these goals. The MD mentioned that one of their goals was to start providing exemplary communications to their clients and so mentioned that the new solution was going to have to be of a very high standard.

NovaBytes took this onboard and scoped and developed a new Unified Communications solution for TCS that was bustling with modern features that would help TCS achieve their goals. Some of the features that are currently benefiting TCS include call hunting, multi-level auto attendants, call groups, call queues and their incredibly professional IVR messaging recorded by a well-known professional voice actor.

Being a security company, TCS had some very specific requirements when it came to the functionality of their new Unified Communications solution. One such requirement was the ability to integrate with on-site alarm systems that would notify their team of intrusions. This had to be carefully constructed by the team at NovaBytes to ensure everything worked properly and no alarms were ever missed.

Results

  • An inexpensive Unified Comms solution with unlimited calling, sms and fax
  • Very high call quality and absolutely no drop-outs
  • All staff members can use the device on 3 separate devices at the one time.
  • Tailored to integrate with alarm systems
  • Incredibly feature rich

The staff at Total Control Security now have a stable and feature-rich Business Telephony/VoIP solution that has had zero downtime in the past 3 years. Because of their new Business Telephony/VoIP solution, Total Control are able to provide their clients with gold star communications when they need it the most. The mobile app allows them to make and receive high quality calls; even if they are on a remote site meaning they never miss a call with a customer and can maintain constant contact with one-another; something incredibly important to the organisation. Good Business Telephony/VoIP is something that is completely integral the company performance at Total Control Security and they have trusted NovaBytes with this important aspect of the business for many years now.
